How do I back a project?

After deciding on the amount and the reward, you can make the payment using whatever option suits you best.

Good to know: If the project does not reach its funding goal, you get your money back. Payments through bank transfer and through Bitcoin will be converted into a credit you can use to back other projects. You can get it refunded anytime you wish.

How do I pay?

On wemakeit you can either pay through bank transfer (except Austria), using your PostFinance Card (Switzerland) or SOFORT Überweisung, Visa or Mastercard, Twint (Switzerland), SMS (Switzerland) as well as by Bitcoin. The payments options available will be automatically listed.

I have problems making the payment. What could be the issue here?

If you are paying by credit card:

Is the credit card number correct?
Did you enter the correct expiration date (month/year) and is your card still valid?
Did you enter the correct CVV number (three-digit number on the back of the card)?
Is there sufficient credit on your credit card?
Have you registered with 3-D Secure or SecureCode?

If you make a payment using your PostFinance Card (Switzerland):

Is the ID on the back of the card correct?
Did you enter the correct expiration date (month/year) and is your card still valid?
Is there sufficient credit in your account?

If it is still not working, please get in touch with us, providing us with the following information: your user name, project you would like to back, payment method used.

Are these payment processes secure?

All payment methods are secure. They are processed by our e-payment provider Getunik AG, Datatrans AG or Coinify. wemakeit does not store any credit card data.

What happens with my backing?

If the project reaches or surpasses its funding goal, your backing will be transferred to the project initiator.

If the project does not reach its funding goal, you get your money back. Payments through bank transfer and through Bitcoin will be converted into a credit you can use to back other projects. You can get it refunded anytime you wish.

What is an «anonymous» pledge?

If you would like to pledge money anonymously, you will not be named as a backer of the project and the project will not appear in your profile.

Please note: If you do not want your identity to be revealed to the project initiator either, do not select a reward since personal information such as email or mailing address is required for shipping.
