Soon it is Christmas again (true story, check your calendar!) and you probably still don’t have any idea what to gift your loved ones to let them know that you care for them … . Here an idea: Get a beautiful, funny and personalized Mulimuli Gift-Help Card for them. You'll hit two birds with one stone. On the one hand, you’ll enable us to get one more healthy chicken for our community farm. On the other hand, you’ll have something for Christmas that will certainly gift somebody a lovely smile and a warm-hearted feeling.

Like the Layer Chicken Gift-Help card, but with fishes (somehow cooler, isn’t it?). Contributing for this reward will enable us to get one more broodstock fish (Mamas and Papas) for our farm and you’ll get a pretty funny gift card. To be transparent: 25CHF is about what we pay to keep one «pair» of broodstock fish (2 females, 1 male; yeah, fish are not monogamous!) for one year. During one year the two females are then able to «produce» over one thousand small baby fish each, which we can sell to local farmers at a good price so they can produce healthy protein for their community and earn an income. Mbuzi (pronounced «Mbuusi») is Kiswahili for «goat». If you pledge for this reward you will get a gift card for a small baby goat (and you can also name her/him if you want). There isn’t really a cost equivalency between your pledge and the cost for the goat here to be honest. The goats mostly roam freely on our compound (there are quite some bushes around). We also let the goats feed their babies with the milk and don’t steel any. The main costs arise during the dry period when we have to feed them with supplementary feeds.
Diseases are another challenge.

Stay one night at our Hostel in Dar es Salaam. Breakfast, local-style dinner, city tour and pick up from any location in Dar es Salaam is included (for 2 people; in the dorm or private room, depending on availability). We’ll also be happy to plan your onwards journey with you. Whether it is going to be a safari in the Serengeti or a demanding hike up the Kilimanjaro or a relaxing stay at the white Beaches of Zanzibar, we’ll organize it for you. Each reward counts as one night for two. You can of course also get multiple rewards/nights.

A private online cooking class with Selina and Teddy (just let us know beforehand in case you are vegetarian or vegan). This will be fun - for sure! Learn to cook a Tanzanian dish and get to know these two wonderful women. Additionally you’ll also get a small pack of Tanzanian spices (depending on where you live - we hope we can get it to you, but can’t promise).

Again one of these Gift-Help Card? Yeah, but this one is even more awesome! By pledging for this reward you’ll enable us to strengthen our knowledge and experience that we then want to spread to our community: With your help we’ll send a member of the Mulimuli family to a professional training for organic agriculture and waste management.

Get a taste of Tanzanian Culture at a dinner with a member of the Mulimuli family. Available locations: Switzerland (Aargau or Zurich), Germany (Munich), Austria (Salzburg and upper Austria) or of course Tanzania (Dar es Salaam). Btw.: Your desired location will decide who the cook will be. For our American friends: From December 22nd to January 6th a dinner in Alabama is also possible!

A one-week intensive hands-on course in fish farming at our urban farm in Dar es Salaam. From hatching of the fish to the plate, with broad insights into the fast-growing fish farming sector in Africa and the world. We’ll dive into technical as well as sustainability aspects and spend lots of time with the fishes. Stay one week at our hostel (local style breakfast, lunch and dinner included) and learn on our farm (plus field trips). Get to know Tanzania while learning something useful! The course will be conducted by our professional fish farmers from BongoFISH. One reward counts for one person. If you are more than one person to attend the course, feel free to contact us or you can also just get multiple rewards.

Book one of the Mulimuli members as one of your private tour guides to show you the real Tanzania (not only the touristic one) and its culture – but be prepared, this experience might change your perception of life forever! This reward includes the guide and all costs that arise for the guide during a 7-day trip around Tanzania (you can be up to 4 people). You will only have to come up for your own costs during the journey. This gives us the freedom to individually plan your adventure together with you (question of: Do you prefer the 5-star hotel, or should it be the cowskin-bed in a Massai hut?)

We believe in angels (Swahili: Malaika)– do you? This would enable us to buy the property and make the community center go through the rooftop while opening vast opportunities to sustainably impact the people around us. In exchange the angel will be allowed to stay at our hostel for as long as she/he wants.
