The young ensemble of classical string soloists, harp and percussion directed by Paul Wegman Taylor, begins its tour at the end of August and beginning of September 2012, in German speaking parts of Switzerland. Plans for continuing performing, primarily in national and international festivals 2013, can only be realized by producing a professional cd and video trailer to be offered to presenters.
Project description
paul taylor orCHestra, based on a classical string formation, specializes in performing late romantic to modern concert music. This project is not only a cultural meeting between Finland and Switzerland, but also a bridge between classical to folk to jazz music. The soloists, both versed in composition and improvisation, bring virtuosic natural sounds together from Lappland and the Alps.
The exciting ground-breaking jazzy Alphorn Concerto by Swiss composer Carl Rütti, the premier of a new composed work «constellationen» for the soloists together with strings and percussion by Javier Hagen, and the Swiss premier of the new Concerto Grosso by the celebrated Finnish composer Timo Alakotila, plus «Weltreise Suite» by Eliana Burki and Nordic songs by Sanna Kurki-Suonio newly orchestrated, guarantee a unique concert experience.
Musical looks behind the scenes can be found via the links to websites at the end of the article.
