Every rehearsal, every light cue, every stitch of costume is getting our full attention – which means your well-deserved rewards are still waiting patiently in the wings.

The Beast – A non-fictional solo dance piece by Elenita Queiróz A dance that refuses to stay silent. Exploring the psychological, emotional, and raw physical dimensions of motherhood, The Beast rejects romanticised portrayals and confronts invisible sacrifices such as grief, fear, and loss of self, while reflecting on universal experiences of transformation.

Every new project is a step forward—a discovery, a small victory. When I started dancing professionally 25 years ago, I never imagined where this passion would take me. The determination to keep going—even into the unknown—has helped me overcome many challenges. But what has really carried me along this path are the people. People who encouraged me with their words, who strengthened me with their deep look in my eyes. Who offered me a place to sleep, showed me the way when I was lost, who were present with small gestures in everyday life, who worked artistically with me, who were there at crucial moments – and yes, who also supported me financially. Parents, relatives, friends, strangers, institutions, governments, neighbors… The work of artists is supported by a network of goodwill. And it is precisely this benevolent support that I am now hoping for once again. When I crossed the sea between Athens and Syros, my heart was filled with gratitude and emotion. Once again, I am setting off – leaving my loved ones behind (albeit only for a while) – to embark on a new adventure. Dance guides me through life. But it is people who really help me move forward. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has crossed my path and become part of my journey—who has shared my dreams and turned them into joint projects: Charlotte, Mara, Léa, Mira, Jacques, Raoul, Laura, Marisa, Mona, Michelle, Mischa, João, and many others.

Bringing my piece «Warning for Contemplation Sections» to the Akropoditi International Performing Arts Festival in Syros (Greece) is another step in a long chapter of my life. Your support is making it possible.

Because we care about each other, we act. Because we believe in creative work, we share it. Because we strengthen each other, we grow together.
