Our third CD
We are producing our third CD and will immerse ourselves in the acoustic universe of Vienna in 1824. That year, two masterpieces for string quartet were written: Beethoven’s visionary late composition op. 127 and Schubert’s «Rosamunde», a melancholy retrospective of the stage music carrying the same name.
The Pacific Quartet Vienna
We are a professional, multinational string quartet, based in Vienna and Zurich. For eight years by now, all our passion goes into string quartet playing, possibly the supreme discipline within the realm of chamber music.
Highlights of the past concert season were the quartet’s concerts at Musikverein Vienna, Wigmore Hall London und appearances at renowned Festivals such as the Styriarte Graz, the Trame Sonore Mantova Chamber Music Festival, the Thuner Schlosskonzerte and the Haydn Festspiele Burgenland.

We are happy that, for the third time, we have the opportunity of producing and releasing a CD with the Austrian label Gramola. A CD production is linked to multiple steps and the costs that go with them:
- Recording and hall rental costs
- Production of the CD booklet (including artists’ photographs, texts and images)
- CD Promotion

今年9月にオーストリアのフランツ・リスト・センターにて録音、年末にグラモーラ社からリリースされますニューアルバムを皆様にご紹介できることを心より嬉しく思います。
タイトルは»1824年»－ベートーヴェンの弦楽四重奏曲第12番変ホ長調作品127とシューベルトの弦楽四重奏曲イ短調D804»ロザムンデ»の同年に作曲されながらも異なる性格の2曲がPQVによって初めてカップリングされます。この年にベートーヴェンは彼の哲学の集大成である後期弦楽四重奏曲群に意欲的に取り組んでおり、最初に完成されたのがこの作品127番です。音楽の力をもって人間、世の中のあるべき姿が追及されています。当時最高峰の作曲家であったベートーヴェンを尊敬していた新進気鋭のシューベルトも同じ年に彼の後期の弦楽四重奏曲の最初の曲としてイ短調»ロザムンデ»を発表します。この曲は憂鬱な雰囲気が特徴で、我々のインスピレーションは遠い昔のギリシャの神々の世界や、ファンタジーに満ちた東欧の民謡の故郷に誘われます。
