What is Clue Writing?

We are two young authors from Switzerland, who started in August 2012 with their literary project «Clue Writing». Twice a week we publish German short stories that have been texted with given keywords and belong to a great variety of genres. No matter what you are looking for, whether you are in the mood for a love story, crime, comedy or horror, you will find it on our blog. It is our ultimate ambition to entertain our readers and to provide them with a steady stream of new and exciting reading material. And because our stories are short, they are ideal to be read whenever and wherever you want – on your computer as well as on your smartphone, in the train on your way to work as well as in your bathtub.
Clue Writing is something for everyone to enjoy and be engaged in, for us as well as for our readers, thanks to the blog-format which lets our readers participate interactively. They can rate, comment and discuss our stories on various platforms and social media websites. Besides that, we are inviting other authors, known as well as unknown, to publish their own short stories on our blog.
But that is still not all! As of late we are planning on publishing our stories as a podcast under the name «Clue Cast». After the first two demo episodes we are planning to make all Clue Writing short stories into podcast episodes.
We hope you can see that we have created a lively and multifaceted project that can be enjoyed by literary lovers as well as casual readers and listeners, which we would like to further expand with your support.

Why should I support Clue Writing?

We offer our short stories (written or as audio) for free and we would like to keep it that way. And even though we have been able to gain a certain amount of publicity in the independent literary scene, we clearly still are a niche project and therefore need to advertise our product more actively in order to reach more readers. Furthermore we want to improve the quality of our podcast since we have recorded it with improvised means until now. By using suitable equipment we want to transform our Podcast into what it is supposed to be, namely a welcomed addition to our writing and a listening pleasure for our listeners to enjoy whenever they wish.
In order to give you an impression what we would use your contributions for, we would like to show you a list of things we are planning to get for the expansion of our project:

  • Advertising material (flyers, business cards and story printouts)
  • Recording equipment for a professional podcast (microphone incl. stand, audio software for editing as well as necessary accessories like cables)
  • A new easier to remember domain (probably cluewriting.com)
  • Enough server space in order to run our podcast smoothly
  • Bi-annual publication of an e-book containing our stories

Who are the people behind Clue Writing?

As it often is with authors it is much easier for us to talk about our short stories than it is to talk about ourselves. Our names are Rahel and Sarah, we live in Switzerland and have both been enthusiastic writers since our youth. In addition to Clue Writing we have been able to release some of our literary works and we are actively taking part in creative writing contests as well as getting involved in the literature scene. Our long standing friendship makes it easy for us to collaborate and is a benefit for our project. We work with lots of commitment on our stories as well as our blog and not only do we have the necessary pinch of stubbornness to boost our project but we are also very much happy to evolve our literary ambitions.
