About our project
Our dream of recording a CD with duo repertoire for violin and piano has finally found its place, after we have been invited by Odradek Records (Italy) to be on their musicians roster and record exclusively for them. The next question was, what pieces should we record? It only seemed right to us to choose works that we somehow feel connected to and are relevant to nowadays life. Therefore, we programmed three works all written in the year of 1917 in different parts of the world that represent the influence of World War I and the impact it had on people’s lives in the following years. The works we have chosen are sonatas by C. Debussy (France) , O.Respighi (Italy) and E. Elgar (England) which are all great masterpieces and we can’t wait to share them with you!
Who we are
Our Duo Valmore was founded in 2018, born from our unique friendship despite living in different countries.
We are Iva Nedeva (violinist) and Rosalind Phang (pianist) and we first met as students at the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School of Music in London. Since then, we have been frequently performing together in various chamber music formations at distinguished festivals. What unites us is the immense joy we have from performing together and our passion for music.
** Most recently, we became PRIZEWINNERS at the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition 2018! Prizes include concerts at the Music Festival Adelboden and Musikdorf Ernen in 2019! **
Why we need your help!
A high quality CD production costs a lot of money and for us as students, it poses a difficult financial challenge. We are dedicated to working for our funding in many different ways, but we also need YOUR help and support in order to meet this challenge.
We have been given a most tremendous opportunity by Odradek Records (Italy), after being chosen from a big selection to be their next recording artists. This means that we already have all the necessary tools such as a recording studio, sound technicians, production and distribution all set up for us. All we need are the funds of 5000 euros to be able to achieve this opportunity.
