This is what it's all about.
Hello, I’m Sandro A big fan of the Philippines and future expatriate to this country. Every time I’m there, I see the great grievances and how bad things are for the children and education there. I have often looked at the circumstances and now I know where to start to give the children a future. Most schools have class sizes of 30-35 children. Unfortunately, it also happens that there are over 50.
In no other country have I met such cheerful and friendly children as in this country. These children’s eyes light up so heartwarmingly when you play with them and when I bring them food or new toys.
I am expanding as many schools as possible with local craftsmen to ensure professional teaching. Classrooms, roofs, toilets and showers have to be built, teaching materials have to be bought, paper and writing materials are needed. Qualified teaching staff must be educated and trained and their English skills improved.
In addition, we need to motivate the students and show them that education plays an important role in their lives. Because they often have little support and understanding for their school education in their families or communities. There is even a lack of opportunities for the children to make their way to school. There are no school buses and many walk several hours to get to school. I will organize workshops and activities to increase students’ interest and motivation.
Transport systems must be set up.
In order to cover the costs of implementing these measures, I am dependent on donations and financial support from you.
The situation on site is unimaginable and shocked me that something like this is still possible in 2023.
My project is special because ...
Due to their inadequate school education, many children are denied a future as we know it. Without an appropriate education, these children have no opportunity for work or future prospects.
With simple actions we can give these innocent children a better future. I am personally on site and accompany all measures, coordinate the work and hold talks with the local authorities.
I feel a great need to lend a hand and to be part of the development.
But expanding the schools is not enough. I accompany as many children as possible in their search for an apprenticeship and work.
A partner network of companies in Europe aims to help some teenagers find work abroad.
A win-win situation for everyone. The young adults can support their families at home and at the same time they help us to take account of the lack of staff.
I also want to start with the teaching staff. The second national language is English, unfortunately most of the teachers do not speak this language very well. With the professional support of language teachers, I will continue to educate teachers in the English language.
This is what I need backing for.
I need a lot of building materials, construction workers and I need to buy basic things like textbooks, pens and paints. Toilets have to be built, play facilities set up and transport systems so that the children can get to school properly. Cooking facilities also have to be built, since the children usually cannot go home for lunch. The teaching staff urgently needs more professional English lessons.
In order to secure the future by looking for apprenticeships and jobs for them and to build up contacts with companies in Europe, I need these funds.
