Danke für deinen Hinweis. Wir haben die Abkürzung schon so oft verwendet und dabei wohl nicht an unsere Vorfahren oder an weniger Musikinteressierte gedacht.
Ein EP (für Extended Play) ist etwas mehr als eine Single, jedoch etwas weniger als ein Album, sozusagen ein Mini-Album.
