Gipsy Tonic presents Mixology!
Gipsy Tonic is an acoustic jazz quartet with gypsy jazz and hard bop influences, based in Lausanne.
Founded in 2016 and inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt, the group has evolved through the eras of swing and bebop, ultimately finding its own sound and creating its unique atmosphere.
With our debut album, «Mixology,» we offer an acoustic and gypsy jazz reinterpretation of hard bop, the jazz of the 1960s championed by such greats as John Coltrane, Lee Morgan, Joe Henderson, and McCoy Tyner.
Producing this album naturally comes at a cost, and the total production and distribution budget is estimated at CHF 7,000.
That’s why we need your help today!
An album with a unique sound
This album, «Mixology,» features eight tracks completely rearranged by the band.
Each track explores a distinct atmosphere. We offer a unique listening experience, resulting in a blend of influences and personalities where the energy of hard bop meets gypsy jazz.
For this debut album, we chose to record in our own studio we built entirely ourselves.
Beyond the music, this album also captures the bond we’ve forged over the years.
