This is what it's all about.

Health Education for All is a pilot initiative designed to strengthen health literacy and prevention skills among students in Geneva schools. With CHF 4,000, we plan on delivering six interactive workshops across three Geneva schools, reaching approximately 150 students. The workshops will focus on practical knowledge and everyday skills that help young people understand health information, manage wellbeing, and make informed choices.

This initiative builds on previous work in Geneva. In 2021, in collaboration with our partners and with support from the State of Geneva, the Alliance organised a youth health promotion project and webinar titled «Health Promotion in Pandemics – Awareness Training for Schools» that connected Geneva students with international experts and peers from other countries to learn about health promotion, well-being, and resilience. With this pilot initiative, we now want to take the next step by bringing health promotion directly into classrooms through practical, in-person workshops.

Recent youth indicators in Switzerland and Geneva show increasing concerns around school stress, recurring emotional symptoms, sleep deficits, loneliness, and body-image pressures. These are not only clinical issues; they are health promotion challenges shaped by habits, environments, and access to clear, reliable information.

At the same time, research shows persistent health literacy and digital health information gaps. Many people struggle to interpret health information or navigate health systems confidently. Young people growing up in a digital information environment often face conflicting or misleading health messages online.

Our workshops aim to address these challenges early by building practical, skills-based prevention education. Students will learn how to better understand health information, develop healthy routines, critically assess digital health content, and strengthen their awareness of wellbeing. By supporting this initiative, you help bring accessible, prevention-focused health education directly into classrooms.

How will the funds be used?

The CHF 4,000 raised through this campaign will cover the practical costs required to prepare and deliver the health education workshops in Geneva schools. The funding will help ensure the sessions are well organised, engaging, and accessible for students.

The funds will be used for:

Developing workshop materials Preparing educational content and activities that focus on health literacy, prevention, and understanding health information. Printing learning materials

Producing handouts, guides, and supporting resources that students can use during the workshops and take with them afterwards. Programme coordination and workshop logistics

Supporting the organisation of the workshops with schools, as well as covering organisational costs such as booking suitable spaces where necessary and ensuring the sessions can be delivered smoothly.

Why support us?

We are the Alliance for Health Promotion (A4HP), an international non-governmental organisation based in Geneva working to advance health promotion. Our mission is to empower people to live healthier lives.
