Inside the creation of Hetz/חֵץ – a duet exploring individuality and belonging.

Hetz/חֵץ is a contemporary dance duet that explores individuality within a shared system. Two bodies move in constant relation, negotiating between synchronicity and difference, revealing how the desire to belong can shape our sense of choice and identity.

The title carries two meanings: in German, «Hetz» suggests urgency and pressure; in Hebrew, «חֵץ» means arrow — direction, intention, movement forward.

The project is currently in a development phase, following its first presentations in Switzerland. The upcoming residency will allow us to deepen the research, refine the material, and expand the work toward a more complete stage version.

What makes this project essential now

Following its first presentations in Switzerland, Hetz/חֵץ was invited to continue its development through a residency at Residenzzentrum Tanz+ in collaboration with Kurtheater Baden.

This residency creates a rare opportunity to dive deeper into the investigation behind the work: refining the physical language, expanding the choreographic structure, and allowing the material to evolve with greater depth and precision.

The focused research period will support the next stage in developing the piece toward a more complete stage version.

What your support makes possible

Your support directly funds the core of the residency process: fair payment for the dancers and the involvement of artistic mentorship.

Beyond financial support, this campaign is also an invitation to build a community around the work through open rehearsals, shared encounters, and future dialogue connected to the process.
