My dream of driving a lorry...
Hello everyone, my name is Sandra, I am 40 years old and the mother of a wonderful four-year-old daughter.
I would like to reorient myself professionally and finally fulfil my long-standing dream of getting my truck driver’s licence. I’ve been harbouring this dream for a long time, but unfortunately I’ve never had the courage to take the plunge into the transport industry.
I’ve spent my working life so far in an office and at the age of 40 I have to admit that I don’t want to spend another 20 years here until I retire.
I was able to spend a trial day at Galliker Transport AG last autumn. This day infected me even more with the driving virus and convinced me to take the plunge :)
I am currently looking for a job and had already considered various financing options… Unfortunately, the RAV doesn’t finance retraining (only in care), various haulage companies do offer financing, but the training is always 100% full-time and that’s not possible at the moment because of our daughter. Unfortunately, our financial cushion is not so big that I could afford the cost-intensive training programme with my own funds. Unfortunately, the DEAR Foundation has also rejected my application, as the chances of finding a new job in my traditional profession are very good…
Now I’m taking the plunge and, with your help, I want to make my dream come true and stop putting it off.
Please help me to make my dream come true so that I can finally get behind the wheel!

Together we can increase the proportion of women in the transport industry and thus help to alleviate the shortage of skilled labour… ;)
