Hugo, an authentic singer

Hugo sings as he is: genuine, sincere, and deeply expressive. For him, music isn’t just a passion. It’s a language. A refuge. A way to exist and share what he feels.

For over 11 years, Hugo has been building his musical world at the Gimmemusic School in Etoy, with the support of his teacher, Johan. A rare bond has developed between them, built on trust, patience, and respect.

One day, Hugo confided his dream to Johan: to write his own songs, record an album, and perform on a big stage. So they got to work. For nearly three years, they composed about ten songs together. Bright and heartfelt pop songs that tell the story of Hugo’s world, his emotions, and his joy of life.

THE MOMENT IT ALL BECAME REAL

At a small Christmas concert, Hugo sang three of his songs for the first time in front of an audience. The audience didn’t applaud out of kindness. They applauded because it was obvious. The choruses sung in unison, the smiles, the emotion in the room… That evening, Hugo wasn’t «different.» He was an artist.

A STORY OF LIFE AND PERSEVERANCE

Hugo was born in September 2002. As he blew out his first birthday candle, the diagnosis came: cerebral palsy. A few years later, a rare genetic disease was identified. He grew up attending a special education program at the Cassagne school in Lausanne. From a very young age, Hugo was fascinated by the stage and concerts. He discovered music therapy and theater, and music gradually became his most natural means of expression. In 2014, he met Johan, who immediately understood that Hugo needed to be supported in his world, at his own pace. Singing then became a bridge between his emotions and reality.

TODAY: BRINGING HIS SONGS TO LIFE

Today, the music and lyrics for his songs are ready. With the support of his family and the Gimmemusic School, Hugo wants to take the next step: recording his first professional album and performing his songs live. If the crowdfunding campaign is a success, the album launch concert will take place on 17th October in a concert hall, where Hugo will sing accompanied by professional musicians.

What will your support be used for?

We are launching a crowdfunding campaign with a goal of CHF 10,000.

Your contribution will allow us to:

• record, mix, and master the album
• create the artwork for the CD album (cover, insert, poster, etc.)
• produce the CD copies with a manufacturing company
• organize the launch concert, rehearsals, and pay the musicians
