Who am I?
My name is Karmen Stendler and I am classical guitarist from Slovenia, currently finishing my musical studies in Germany.
For as long as I can remember it has been my great wish to record and release my debut CD and with a little bit of your help that can finally come true!
I’ve been in love with the classical guitar since I can remember and I cannot imagine a day without it. I am very thankful and feel privileged to had been able to decide for this profession and even after endless hours of practicing, performing and all the difficulties I went through while pursuing a career in music, I never looked back.
When I’m not hanging out with my guitar, you will usually find me reading, doing yoga, traveling and learning new languages, cooking delicious colorful food or spending time with people I love the most.
About my debut CD
I’ve put a lot of thought into the structure of the album. It includes my favourite renowned pieces written for the classical guitar from renaissance to the 21st century, the ones I’ve been studying extensively during the last few years – from Spanish composers such as Rodrigo, Aguado and Milán through Frank Martin’s expressive suite of the early 20th century Quatre pièces brèves and back to my slavic roots through the music of two Slovenian composers (Srebotnjak and Rojko) and Variations on a Theme by Scriabin written by Polish composer Alexandre Tansman.
I’ve been working really hard on this project for a while now and the biggest and most demanding part of it has already been completed – I’ve professionally recorded all the pieces!
But with your help and support I can also successfully fund the last part of it.
Your support will enable me to cover the following expenses:
- post-production
- cover design
- duplication of the actual CDs
I really appreciate any contribution you are able to make. Thank you for helping and supporting me on this journey!
