Recording a CD on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI
We, the Renner Ensemble Regensburg e.V,. have recorded a CD entitled «War and Peace». The 100th anniversary of the end of WWI inspired us to deal with the topics war, eviction, and the abuse of power – and their counterparts – in a musical way.
This musical monument is dedicated to the millions of dead of all the wars. You may look forward to many well known composers from different countries, such as Carl Maria von Weber, Peter Cornelius, Friedrich Silcher, Josef G. Rheinberger, or Ivan Moody, Nikolaj Sokolov and Veljo Tormis. Even classical pop songs like John Lennon’s imagine will be on the CD.

Our project is special because ...
In 2018, we are going to work together with different museums and other cultural institutions to give concerts with the program «War and Peace». However, it means a lot to us to record this extraordinary program on a CD. This is why we had two recording sessions (June 30 to July 2 and August 19 to August 20) St. Nikolaus church in Bad Abbach near Regensburg to make the project come true; supported by our Label ARS, represented by audio technician Manfred Schumacher and our recording engineer Martin Rust.
Funding the recording of the CD
Recording and producing a CD cost money. A lot of steps have to be taken (recording, editing, mastering, writing and designing the booklet and the cover and so on) till you can hold the result in your hands and listen to it. The production costs run up to 10.000 Euro – due to the use of the best equipment that allows us to send you the original «Renner sound» straight to your living room. And that’s why we need you!
