Why make this film in the first place?
It will be a film for people with and without disabilities. Béatrice’s life experience will enable able-bodied people to understand what everyday life is like for people with disabilities. The film will enable everyone to take part in the actual political debate by listening to the voices of activists past and present who talk about the changes they want to make to the system. Through the activist choices of Béatrice, Dominique, Anne Catherine and Katharina, this film shows women activists who have fought throughout their lives to improve the social structure of their country. It illustrates how they changed a system that the politicians and health players of the time were not making evolve fast enough to their liking. It shows the activists of today, focused on inclusion for all and armed with new ideas for change. It’s a joyful film that takes us from the snowy peaks to the desert. It’s a film that travels into the hearts of people past and present who have understood that when we dream together we can make a real difference to the world.
To dream has tangible consequences.
This film shows that we can change our lives and that by changing them to «make things fairer» we can also improve the lives of other citizens if we develop a system that we can put forward politically. The images in this film show that there are no limits: if you can imagine it, you can implement it with a lot of will and a group of highly motivated people. And it’s all the more important to understand the topic, because the laws are going to change in 2026 and the people will be asked to vote.
This is what I need backing for.
Your support will be used to shoot the footage linking the archive footage shot between 1980 and 2024. It will also enable us to shoot images of today’s activists and their vision of the world they want to build. Finally, if your support exceeds our target, it will enable us to start to post-produce the film and send it to festivals and cinemas. Every amount, no matter how small, will enable us to take another step forward. And in the end, as Beatrice has done, we will make what we have imagined a reality.
