What it's all about

The Lycordia Ensemble is flexibly sized ensemble that explores the repertoire of chamber music with countless instrumental combination possibilities.

An ever new energy is reborn in every piece and in every collaboration between soloists and guest ensembles.

Strings and voice, winds and piano or classical instruments combined with unconventional instruments - all create a diversity of colors and timbres for richly varied programs! A wide range of styles and music from the 18th century to the present day is being addressed and new compositions and arrangements of key works are also unveiled at concerts.

Our programs seek to convey our passion for the music of great composers of the past as well as the pleasure of discovering the music of current creators. We are convinced that all music is bound by a power of communication without borders and we want to explore these vast lands.

A common thread appears in each program and it is an opportunity to explore a new repertoire. It is also a fertile ground for the composition and adaptation of the so-called classical repertoire in less known and new formats.

My project is special because ...

Come share a musical moment to appreciate the poetry and the romantic impulse of the end of the 19th century. This serenade-style concert parallels French and German-style music with composers who have marked this era: Debussy, Chausson, Mahler and R. Strauss.

This project is special because instrumental and vocal works have been specially arranged for string quartet, piano and soprano.

Each composer is a witness of his time and in his own way, he gives his vision of life and his passions. Their messages echo their perception of the world and remain timeless.

Thanks to this project and your support, we will promote exchanges between the different ensembles already formed and perform classical repertoire in a different light.

This is what I need backing for.

Thanks to you we will gather talented musicians from Switzerland, France and Japan and we will offer three magical concerts in Lausanne, Geneva and Basel. Your support will help to rent the concert halls, print publicity material as well as the production of a first live CD.
