«there's something wrong»

On September 16, 2023 I will release my fifth studio album «There’s Something Wrong» at the legendary Atlantis in Basel.

In collaboration with producer Marco Jencarelli of SOUNDFARM STUDIOS (also known as guitarist of Funky Brotherhood, Philipp Fankhauser, Jazzattakk, Lilly Martin among others) an unusual, progressive album has been created.

Blues 3.0

I am known for my musical obstinacy. Purism and pigeonholing are an absolute anathema to me. Blues, soul, funk and pop elements are an important part of my music. I give a song exactly what it needs. Music is, in my opinion, living art that has nothing to do with rigid ideas.

Marco Jencarelli: «Manu’s voice has fascinated me for a long time. Then, in 2022, I decided rather spontaneously to contact her and ask her about her plans. Already at our first meeting a wonderful atmosphere was created and the ideas for an unusual, progressive and bluesy album came together quickly. I am proud of the result and honored to have been able to contribute my part. Manu’s music on this album for me is blues without barriers and clichés, blues 3.0!»

For this I need your support

In the production of a studio album is, in addition to creative ideas, a lot (very much!) Time, patience and sweat. And finally, it costs a lot of money to complete. Many people are involved in the process. They earn their living with it and should be paid fairly for it. I have already paid a large part of these costs myself. However, as a musician, I can’t carry everything on my own.

In order to release the album nevertheless promptly, I need financial support now!

To give you an idea of the costs of an album production, I have listed the most important items here:

  • Studio rent (e.g. SOUNDFARM STUDIOS)
  • Instrument rental (e.g. Steinway grand piano)
  • Producer’s fee / studio technician’s fee
  • Fee for musician
  • Catering during studio sessions
  • Fee for mixing audio files
  • Fee mastering (final polish)
  • Fee photographer
  • Fee graphic designer (cover design)
  • SUISA (manages copyrights)
  • Label (e.g. Fontastix)
  • pressing plant (production of CD; vinyl record)
  • Distribution (distributes the album in stores; radios)
  • Promotional agency (publicizing my music)

Thank you very much for your support!
