MÉANDER – Album Project

This is what it's all about.

In December, my second MÉANDER album «ZWIELICHT» will be released as a limited art book version! I need your support for that.

My new album project is about transitions. Transitions in life as well as in nature. Twilight, which describes the flowing transition of light, is a wonderful metaphor for a space of memory and foreboding, of retrospection and vision. With a total of thirteen new songs, the album musically spans an arc from quiet, sustaining sounds to powerfully faster ways. It includes eight German and five English songs. The themes in them are poetic treatises of personal processes that have moved and inspired me over the past three years.

«Zwielicht» delves into the themes around death, dying, mourning, empathy with the world and connectedness with the whole. It leads me to places of strength and touchability.

The songs were arranged with professional musicians who support the songs groovily or melodically with cello, sounds, electric guitar, bass, percussion and female vocal arrangements.

There is a lot of my heart and soul in every note, every tone, every line, every image and every melody of this work. Be curious and let yourself be surprised!

My project is special because ...

Instead of a conventional CD, I am bringing out an artistic illustrated book. The lyrics are embedded on transparent pages like poems between expressive photographs (of wild landscapes, body fragments, transformations within the seasons). The album is easily downloadable online via a QR code. The listeners get a unique experience through the book. Through the songs, photographs and texts you are taken on a journey.

For me, it is a special experience to hold such an art book with the lyrics in my hands, to browse through it and listen to the songs at the same time.
