Why do I support the «Life Is A Laugh» project?
I spent more than a year working on my new album «Life is a Laugh», with producer and arranger Serge Morratel (Lofofora, Knut, Stevans, The crags, The Animen,..). It is composed of 11 smooth and ironic social chronics. Having entirely financed the making of the CD on my own, I now need help for its pressing and for the shooting of a video clip (the song «Lonesome»), which is essential for the promotion of the album.
Who I am.
My name is Thomas Emmanuel Amacker. I’m a Swiss-Italian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
In 2004, I released with my trio a first album, which was praised a «great revelation» by the prestigious French magazine «Rock & Folk».
In 2012, after having gained a lot of experience with different rock bands (including the garage trio Black Ananda »), I recorded, under the name of Mumbling Thom, my first solo album, in which I played all the instruments, apart from the drums. The CD, highly acclaimed by the swiss magazine «Daily Rock», has a wide range of styles, shifting from afro-blues to metal, and is greatly inspired by North-American rhythms and culture. The new album «Life Is A Laugh» contains 11 uptempoed, solar folk ballads, that relate in an ironic and sometimes cynical way my views on society.
