NURTURE HAUS ZÜRICH IS COMING TO LIFE

A home for families — from fertility through parenthood

My name is Amina Charles. I am the founder of Nurture Postnatal Care, a U.S.–based maternal health company that has supported hundreds of families during pregnancy, loss, birth, and postpartum.

I am also a mother, and I am a woman who has lived through late-term pregnancy loss, grief, and the quiet loneliness that many families experience after birth.

Even with good hospitals, good insurance, and «everything on paper,» I struggled to find coordinated, compassionate support. Not five separate appointments. Not one rushed visit. But a place where care actually connects.

That place did not exist, so I built Nurture.

Now I am bringing that vision to Zürich.

A PLACE FOR THE WHOLE JOURNEY

Nurture Haus Zürich will be a calm, home-like community space where families can access coordinated care across the full reproductive and early parenting journey:

  • Fertility education & emotional support

  • Pregnancy workshops & partner preparation

  • Postpartum recovery care, lactation & mental health

  • Parent-and-baby classes (0–3 years)

  • Small group circles, movement, and early childhood development

  • A warm reception lounge for tea, rest, and connection

  • A Community Fund to ensure access regardless of income

Not a clinic. Not a hospital extension. A space designed to restore, not overwhelm.

Why this is urgently needed — even in Switzerland

Switzerland offers excellent clinical care — but families are often left to navigate everything between appointments alone.

Here is what we consistently see:

  • Short postpartum follow-up windows
  • Limited coordinated support after birth
  • Rising rates of postpartum depression and parental burnout
  • Strong cultural pressure to «manage privately»
  • Little structured space for early family support beyond infancy

The result? Families suffering quietly — and preventable struggles becoming long-term problems.

A real moment that shaped this

A mother once told me:

«I didn’t need another appointment. I needed someone to see me, hold the whole picture, and help me breathe again.»

Her baby was healthy. She was not.

She had a midwife, a doctor, and a therapist — but no coordinated place that brought care together in a way that actually supported her recovery.

Nurture Haus is designed for families like hers.

Who is behind this

Nurture Haus Zürich is being developed with a growing Swiss-based professional network, including:

  • Certified midwives

  • IBCLC lactation consultants

  • Perinatal therapists

  • Early childhood educators

  • Bodyworkers & trauma-informed practitioners

All united around a shared care philosophy: evidence-based, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and human.

Where we are now

Nurture Haus Zürich is not starting from zero. It grows out of Nurture Postnatal Care — a maternal health company I founded in the United States, which has already supported families through pregnancy, loss, birth and postpartum.

Over the past two years, I have built care frameworks, educational programs and a trusted professional network that are actively used by families today. These foundations now allow us to open the first Nurture Haus in Switzerland, thoughtfully, and with care.

Zürich has been chosen as our first location. Conversations are underway in the District 3 / Seefeld / Altstetten area for a calm, accessible space that can become a serene home for families.

At the same time, a Swiss-based practitioner network is forming. Midwives, IBCLC lactation consultants, perinatal therapists and early childhood educators have already expressed interest in offering their services and programs through Nurture Haus.

We are ready to open Nurture Haus with care and with the input of the community.

Sustainability beyond the pilot

Once the space is complete, we will begin pre-selling memberships to families who want early access to programs, classes and community offerings. These memberships provide ongoing revenue that supports continued operation beyond the pilot phase and allows Nurture Haus to grow responsibly.

Timeline

Month 1 Finalise space, sign practitioner agreements, publish first program calendar, open Community Fund.

Month 2 Weekly workshops, postpartum recovery sessions and parent-baby classes begin.

Month 3 Community open house and public registration opens. First families attend.

By Month 6 Over 150 families supported, 6–8 practitioners active, subsidised places already in use.

Thank you for believing in this vision and for helping us build something that will support families for years to come.

Together, we are nurturing a new standard of care in Zurich.
