The Rosa Buch is for queers and their peers - everyone. But paper prices have skyrocketed, and we need the community’s support so that the book doesn’t become a deficit project.

This is what it's all about.

What’s the best way to respond to a coming out? Is a person ever too young or too old to come out? Do bisexuals really exist? And what should we really have learned about lesbian sex? Das Rosa Buch is not a textbook, but comes from an everyday life among people who break down taboos and celebrate their own diversity. Behind this is political resistance to prevailing norms and the love of learning without fear of making mistakes.

There are still too few queer feminist books like this - I want to change that.

My project is special because ...

For some, LGBTQ is a superfluous trend, others don’t understand the term. Many people, on the other hand, are at home in these letters - I am one of them. Hi.

I write and talk about gender and attraction by profession. I write not only for those who have long known they are queer, but also for those to whom the word is new - and, who knows, perhaps moderately sympathetic. Das Rosa Buch illuminates identities outside the norm with a confident, loving eye, is definitely sometimes angry about injustice, but meets everything with curiosity and humor. And again and again, as an author, I also deal with my Jewish roots.

This is what I need backing for.

For this answer, I have to start from the very beginning. Originally I developed this book at another publisher (the Saiten-Verlag). Then it was happily handed over to Rotpunktverlag. That alone makes for extra costs - and in 2022, of all years, when paper prices have really exploded.

I give you my word: no one is making big cash on the Rosa Buch. The book is in danger of becoming a deficit project (i.e. a project where we, the creators, lose more money than we earn). With this crowdfunding we make sure that all involved can be paid for their work and that we don’t incur gross losses.

And: The more money we raise through crowdfunding, the more I can afford to do free readings, for example at youth clubs and small queer events.
