New permanent exhibition on inventions and science fiction

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of science fiction. Spanning approximately 400 square meters, the Enter Technikwelt is expanding with a new, unique format. We are recreating life-size, detailed sets from well-known sci-fi universes. Visitors can thus become part of the scene and explore the technology used in science fiction within an impressive setting. This approach delights visitors of all ages and allows them to engage with the history of inventions in a playful way. This also helps us inspire children and teenagers to take an interest in technology, thereby making a lasting contribution to STEM education. School classes will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the new exhibition using educational materials and explore the technology behind science fiction through various interactive stations and puzzles.

An interactive science fiction exhibition of this kind is unique

There are art and cultural museums that host science fiction exhibitions, drawing on fictional content or original objects and props from films. In contrast, when presenting technical processes, technology museums only make sporadic references to science fiction themes. We want to rethink this approach and combine the best of both worlds. This makes the new format visually impressive, highly interactive, emotionally engaging, yet educational and technically in-depth.

This is what we need backing for.

We need a total of approximately 1 million CHF to bring the new exhibition to life. The breakdown is as follows:

– Total exhibition costs: approx. 1 million CHF – Already secured: 50% (grants, own funds) – Still needed: 50% – of which 10% is to come from crowdfunding – First phase: 50,000 CHF, second phase: 100,000 CHF.

We will use the funds raised through crowdfunding to build the interactive elements. A total of around 20 of these interactive experiences are planned. Among other things, we will implement a hacking game set in the Fallout universe, a testing area for lasers and infrared in the James Bond section, and an X-Wing cockpit with corresponding interactive elements on the topic of radar in the Star Wars section.

We need the first phase (50,000) for the first half of these interactive experiences. With the additional 50,000, we can also tackle the hologram theme in the Star Wars section, build an interactive «escape room» game for Dr. Frankenstein to bring his monster to life using technical devices, and add further interactive elements to make the visit and educational experience more engaging.
