Imagine a place...

…where time stands still. A place where you can reconnect with yourself. Where nature envelops you and your senses come alive again.

This is exactly the kind of place we are creating here in rural Romania, amidst rolling hills on the edge of the Carpathians. The vision for the Sensory Oasis arose from a deep longing: for simplicity, connection and for authentic life.

This special place will consist of four yurts and a geodesic dome. Inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, each space is dedicated to one of our five senses and a quality of life: sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste. Spaces for reading and creating, for making music, for moving, for pausing, and for connecting. In the centre, the fire burns—as the heart of community, warmth, and exchange.

This place is already bustling with life

With our small, local eatery serving sourdough pizza baked in a clay oven and fermented beverages, we’ve become a major attraction in the community. We also have horses and ponies on our farm that children and adults can ride or take for carriage rides. You can also interact with our dogs, cats, ducks, and chickens. Here, you can feel the earth beneath your fingernails, smell the scent of the barn, walk barefoot, sit by the stream, and listen to the leaves rustling in the wind. The elements are all around you as a natural part of life. This experience is complemented by offerings such as an open-air hot tub and bookable, soothing, professional massages. These are little islands of relaxation. School classes and groups are already finding their way to us for nature days and camps—and leave the place completely enchanted and recharged! At the same time, we want to create a place that is also open to the local community for cultural activities, encounters, and exchange.

We are often asked by our visitors: «Can you stay overnight here?» Especially for families and groups, there is a lack of overnight accommodations in our region. We would now like to change that.

We are converting three of our yurts into simple, cozy sleeping quarters with a total of 18 beds. Sleeping there is intentionally kept close to nature: without electricity, stripped down to the essentials—yet warm and cozy, thanks to a wood-burning stove in each yurt.

The Sensory Oasis is meant to be a place that connects: with nature, with animals, with other people, and with what is often lost in everyday life—ourselves!

This is what we need backing for.

We are building with local, eco-friendly materials and taking care to remain in harmony with nature. The wooden main structure is being constructed by external experts. We are taking care of the assembly, insulation, and furnishings. We have already ordered three yurts using our own funds, and the materials for the floors and the basic structure of the sanitary facilities are also in place.

However, to make the next steps a reality, we need your support.

For cost transparency:

The entire project, including 4 yurts, 1 dome, insulation, wooden flooring, sanitary facilities, and interior furnishings, will cost us approximately €40,000.

We already have €25,000 of this from our own funds.

We need your support for this:

• 8m diameter yurt → 10’000 €
• Dome →5’000 €

As a first step, we want to raise funds specifically for the purchase of the large yurt.
