If you love biking you love bikes, right? Chances are, you’ve got a few you like to ride, a gravel bike for trips on made roads, an MTB or eMTB for hitting the trails, and maybe a road bike too. Having a choice of bikes is great, but there has always been one problem, and that is those accessories that you can’t live without.
A trailer to take the kids on your adventure, a rack for your tent or a kickstand because hey, why not. If you have a few bikes, it used to mean buying a trailer mount or whatever for each of them or spend hours swapping bits over before you head out on a trip. One is expensive, the other is a hassle.
As an avid biker first, and a bike mechanic mostly to fund it, it’s a problem that has been bugging me for years. Until now. I came up with this new design that lets you keep everything together and swap all your accessories from one bike to another in the time it takes to undo and refit a rear axle. It’s called the SteadyRide Thru Axle, there is nothing else like it out there, and will make your life as a cyclist so much simpler.

The big thing about this axle is that is designed from the ground up to be universal. You can use it with every bike you own today, and all the ones you are going to buy in the future. Yes, I know, you said no more, we all know how that will go, don’t we. With multiple adaptors it can fit any length or thread requirement, so you can use this one axle on your gravel bike, then swap it to your eMTB, or anything else too. One axle that fits all your accessories, and you can swap it to any of your bikes in seconds.
But I know the question you are asking. Why? Why go to all the trouble of designing an axle that can be swapped around?
A Trailer AND a Kickstand?
Being able to easily swap the axle is important because it is more than a high quality thru axle. It is that too, designed by me here in Switzerland and using 100% European construction for superb strength and durability. But apart from being a great axle for any bike, it is also designed to work with the included bracket, using precision engineering for an incredibly solid, easy fit. The bracket is ideal for any trailer you may be using, but it is also a sturdy mount for racks and kickstands, and it solves another problem any cyclist who has used a trailer will recognize. You can fit a trailer AND a kickstand, at the same time.
Yes, really, and end to that awkward bit where you get to the end of your ride, and you have to hold the bike up to fiddle with the trailer. Now you can just drop the kickstand and that is it. Whatever bike you want to use, just take it all with you, plan a trip, choose a bike, swap the SteadyRide Thru Axle and off you go.
Cycling is all about simplicity, and this is the simplest way to get the things you need no matter which bike you choose to take.

When developing our axle, we took a close look at existing solutions on the market and their weaknesses. The result? An axle designed to make your life easier: we’ve improved the threading at the dropout, so you don’t have to buy a new axle every time. Instead, you simply swap out the thread adapter and you’re good to go.
To make tightening and loosening easier, we’ve integrated a 17 mm wrench interface that can handle high pressure for a secure fit. In comparison, many products rely on a 5 mm hex key – we’ve included that too, but specifically for mounting the adapter.
