This is what it's all about

2 years ago, the collective and label strecke records has silently put its activites to an end, leaving behind 6 years of music, party, pictures, performances. Its activities between 2016 and 2022 have been widely noticed on the Swiss electronic scene and have allowed encounters, Swiss and international connections, as well as the development of a scene in the city of Fribourg and in its region, during a special period of club closures, cultural policies, gentrification and pandemic.

As the 10 members of the collective have been extremely welded and committed over these years, it was time for them to move on and focus on other perspectives, projects, both personal or collective.

In order not to let the archives and the energies deployed in the fragile history of free music and collectives vanish, a work group has been set up to publish an edition composed of visual and photographical archives of the collective and label during its period of activity. Rather than creating a sort of retrospective, moving away from theoretic analysis, the projects aims to open a perspective on a small town, a period, lives, hybrid sounds and art forms, a movement which has never stopped evolving and which gave, among many others, energy and breath to the Swiss electronic and hardcore continuum.

With past and present contributions of artists and friends who, from far or near, are part of this scene and have shared this adventure. This hybrid corpus will include texts written by these contributors, archive images by various, sometimes unknown photographers, as well as scans of posters, flyers, screenshots, all in the mix of colours and experimental prints that have made the label’s identity.
