...is my musical plea for the relevance of the ’in-between’
THE BEAUTY IN BETWEEN is an ode to the power of the spaces in between, the infinite facets of the androgynous, and that which cannot be defined. The music on this album is a musical, personal, and socio-political statement for the beauty of diversity – beyond fronts, borders, and exclusions.
The cello is at the heart of it all.
Just like my first album ’Brothers’, this album exclusively features my own compositions, all recorded and edited in my home studio. My dog, Toska, was there for every single note. Producing it was a blast, working alongside the talented up-and-coming musician and producer Lukas Klement. Young dutch producer Milan van Luyn made an exciting Remix of one of my pieces that is also included on the album.
The funds will cover production, printing (CD/Vinyl), and with luck a bit of the creative process.
With a lot of love, I’ve spent the last months (and years) composing, practicing, fooling around, notating, conceptualizing, discarding, recording, editing, doubting, re-recording, questioning tempos, arranging, singing, writing lyrics, listening, and playing the cello for this album. This process is like a road trip – a journey inward, because other than on the strings, I haven’t moved all that much (except for the occasional walk with Toska, my dog). My goal is to cover the expenses for CD replication and vinyl pressing, mixing, mastering, printing, graphic design, photos, and more. Anything beyond my initial goal will go toward financing my artistic work itself.
