Have you ever seen upcycling around you? It’s there ! Book boxes in old phone booths or bar seats made with pallets, you know? And we’re sure that you know someone in your circle who tried to start a mask business with their waste fabric during the pandemic!
Well this all is UpCycling, in other words, making new with old!
Did you know that upcycling is even more environmentally friendly than recycling? And yes! Recycling requires a lot of energy to upgrade a product while upcycling extends its life with only our creativity as a source of energy;)
Our French, German and Austrian neighbours understood it very quickly and they are already well on the way… So? What are the Swiss waiting for?

Atelier24, the House of Upcycling
Imagined in early 2022, Atelier24 has three missions: 1) Bringing together Swiss designers of upcycling and supporting them 2) Promote this trend nationally 3) Encouraging small and large businesses to get involved Today, Team24 (Elisa, Jeannine, Fiona, Daria and Amélie) is brimming with ideas to promote Upcycling throughout the country and simplify its implementation in our daily lives! For all these ideas to become reality, we need your help! By supporting our fundraising campaign, you are participating in the first phase of the project’s development, which includes the following costs:
- Room rentals for creative workshops on a regular basis throughout Switzerland, for the young and old (creation of everyday objects, decorative objects, repair of appliances, etc. in order to reduce waste while having fun with friends, family, etc.)
- Financing of a major advertising campaign to promote this sustainable alternative, Upcycling.
- Rental of an place to organize the very first creative market 100% Upcycling. Pretty cool program, huh?

We totally! Besides, we still have ideas for development projects for the future of Upcycling:
- Foundation of a network of upcycling creators and organization of events such as conferences, workshops, etc. so that creators create synergies among themselves, improve their art, etc.
- Commitment of a team of young developers and graphic designers to professionalize the E-Shop and the site in order to make the platform accessible to as many creators as possible and to offer a wide selection of upcycling articles.
- Launch of a blog and podcast on sustainable alternatives and give voice to the actors of tomorrow’s world. Today, we already have our website, the active E-Shop, a growing community on social networks and we have already organized several creative workshops. We know that these 3 things are to the people liking and want to develop the full potential of this project and this is only possible with your support and that of all people who believe in the future of this alternative!
