Presentation of the project

In March 2024, the Cinématographe, the cinema located at the Casino de Montbenon in Lausanne, will be run by a new team organised as an association. At the heart of our project is the desire to share quality cinema and the pleasure of cinema-going with all audiences.

On the programme: a wide choice of new releases and reruns, themed cycles, events, a selection of films aimed at young audiences, outreach activities and numerous collaborations with festivals and film clubs.

The Cinématographe will be a lively and welcoming place, thanks to your presence and our involvement. We look forward to offering you a varied programme of films and sharing passionate discussions over a drink in our new bar.

Your support

For the time being, the new Cinématographe association is supported solely by the City of Lausanne, which provides the space free of charge. We are currently applying for funding and subsidies, but we need your help to finance the creation of a welcoming bar and the development of our website.

The money we raise will help finance the development of the project and the construction work on the bar, including the purchase of equipment and furniture, as well as paying for part of the development of the website.

The project leaders

We are a group of four cultural professionals with a wide range of experience in the film industry, from the management of a cinema, festival programming and university teaching to project management and outreach activities. Today, we are bringing our skills together to ensure a vibrant and inclusive cinematic future for the Cinématographe.

Meli Boss, Faye Corthésy, Gysèle Giannuzzi and Alice Riva have been working voluntarily on this project since July.
