A project close to my heart
After more than a year of work every Thursday evening and sometimes more — a collective effort involving calligraphy, scanning and layout — the book is ready for printing: nearly 200 pages, with a high-quality spiral binding for practical use by musicians.
This adventure was made possible thanks to some invaluable collaboration:
• the meticulous calligraphy of a Dutch artist, • the technical expertise of Robert Hyppolite and Victor Roux from Onzeweb • and my own involvement in the layout and editing.
Today, I would like to have this book printed in a professional format and make it available to jazz enthusiasts, musicians, teachers, and fans of big band jazz.
But I need your help to take this final step.
Thank you, Alain Guyonnet
Performed by Lee Konitz and 10 musicians
It is not very common to encounter such determination over more than 45 years, composing, arranging and producing more than 500 compositions in the jazz big band style.
Performed by Lee Konitz and Kenny Werner
The funds will be used primarily for:
- Printing the collection of sheet music
- Creating a website featuring all versions (A3 format for the conductor and A4 format for the 17 musicians) available for free download.
- The digitisation (scanning) and calligraphy of the scores.
These services were provided by independent craftsmen. Robert Hyppolite coordinated and scanned the scores, POT sàrl did the printing, a Dutch calligrapher and Victor Roux from Onzeweb also contributed, as did Boris Siegenthaler from Infomaniak, who made an exceptional and generous contribution.
