War experiences cause trauma in children. Early support helps them return to normal life. Through art therapy, I support refugee children in Switzerland as they process their pain.

Emotional support for children and adolescents traumatized by war experiences

A trauma is a severe psychological injury caused by an experience involving loss of control or a threat to life (such as war). Children who have lived through war and displacement are often affected. The earlier professional help is provided, the better. Early intervention may even help prevent post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Why art therapy?

Art therapy (specializing in painting and creative expression) is beneficial for these children, helping them process their traumatic experiences.

Everything that can be transformed and brought «outside» supports this process and relieves the emotional burden on their young souls.

A key aspect of trauma recovery is stabilization.

It gives children a sense of safety:

  • Positive visions of the future can emerge
  • Inner resources are activated, bringing joy and relaxation
  • A sense of inner safety develops through self-responsibility and self-care
  • Emotional self-regulation and calming are supported through art therapy exercises
  • Mindfulness is cultivated
  • Interpersonal safety is fostered through a stable therapeutic relationship with consistent rules and rituals

For this, I need your support.

I want to offer art therapy support to these traumatized children now living in Switzerland, to help them process the deep wounds caused by war. However, art therapy is only covered by supplemental insurance—something these children do not have. This is why I rely on donations to make this project possible.

I would be deeply grateful if your contribution could help provide these children with the chance to heal from their painful experiences.

With your support, you stand in solidarity with children affected by war and give them hope for a better future.
