New album dedicated to Torelli's manuscript sonatas
After the success of their first album «Dalla biblioteca di Vivaldi?» (Calliope 2021), Sue-Ying Koang and Vincent Bernhardt continue their in-depth work with a new album devoted to a repertoire that has partly never been recorded before: Giuseppe Torelli’s handwritten sonatas for violin and basso continuo, again with the complicity of Diana Vinagre on the cello, and Parsival Castro on the theorbo or guitar. Sound engineer: Jean-Daniel Noir.
Unpublished and original works
Giuseppe Torelli is best known for the works published in his time, in particular concertos for trumpet or for violin. We have chosen to present works which, for the most part, were not published at the time and whose writing is even more daring and original.
