After the first WMRT event, we went back to Bermuda to participate the third Winter Series event. We were happy to be back on our Chicago boat and managed to win it !
After this 2 match races were organised as selections for the Copenhague and Newport WMRT events. And we had the opportunity to be part of it. We raced against young teams and multiple world champion Ian Williams. As we have the wild card for the upcoming events, we were out of the ranking but it was definitely a good training with the 39 match races we sailed during both events.
It was a tired happy team that left Bermuda mid-march and it’s a full charged batteries team that arrived today in Los Angeles to participate to the Congressional Cup. We will sail on Catalina 37 monohull boats and this is gonna change a little bit from the M32.
We will be 7 women sailors onboard :Sally Barkow, Margaret Shea (USA), Annie Lush, Abby Ehler (GBR), Annie Wennergren (SWE), Stacey Jackson (AUS), Elodie Mettraux (SUI) and Stephanie Roble (USA) as coach to compete against 11 other teams. CAN’T WAIT !
Thanks for your support ;) more news to come soon!

This weekend we participated the 3rd M32 Winter Series event in Bermuda. The forecast was really good all weekend and we managed to race 14 races in total in perfect wind conditions between 7 and 14 knots.
Good starts, good speed and good teamwork made our lives easy around the race course and we managed to put the 5 other boats behind!
Team of the week end: Kate, Dave, Elo, Maggie and Sally;)
Thanks for your support!!!

First day racing for Team Magenta 32 today!
First two races were sailed in pretty light conditions with the Fremantle Doctor slowly coming in. Pretty hard beginning of the day for us with a 5th and 4th (sailing in a group of 5 boats to qualify for the second stage, in a 16 boats knock out). The last race, the wind came and our brains were finally on, to put on the good moves and we finished in a strong second place.
Tomorrow we will sail in the afternoon which means that it will be full on conditions that we LOVE!
Thanks for your support, 2 days to go, only 1300 euros to reach our goal!

After this week end, Nils and Abby left Bermuda to go to work and David and Maggie arrived to replace them. We had really good conditions to sail yesterday with 15 kts and so today, with less than 10 kts. Practice is the key, learning curve is coming up fast, we are enjoying every moment on the water and every minute we have in bed at the end of the day!
We are really lucky that Annie (better coach than photographer;) is having her match racing eyes on us and help to put the boat on the right place for the chess game!
Having quiet interesting debriefings at the end of the day!

Quiet a hard week end for us on the water. Saturday we didn’t managed to get a good speed upwind which didn’t make our lifes easy on the course.
The second day was better, we found the speed upwind and the differents modes in the gusts and light winds. We had a really good middle of the day with a few good races where everything was goind perfectly onboard. And that’s the key. No mistakes, no «fuck ups», and you are the Queen of the world!
In the end, learned a lot of different things. We have a few days of training to come still before flying to Perth, keep sharing our now named Team Magenta 32 and follow us on Facebook!
And on thursday, our training was followed by a very energetic evening of talks, and boat tours with over 40 kids at the Royal Bermuda YC! Good to see some stars in their eyes!

After almost a month off goingo to the gym, we are back on water in Bermuda to get ready for the race of the week end and the following BIG one! Today, we trained with Ian Williams, 6 times world match racing champion and it was interesting, we are moving forward!
Unfortunately, pictures of the day were not of a good enough quality for your eyes but, they’ll get better during the week!
Breaking News!! We have a new partner giving us coffee to be awake on the morning starts! And guess what, by supporting us, you can receive some too!
