Discover La Lampe à Huile
La Lampe à Huile is a small soap workshop with big dreams.
It finds its way into your bathroom with little pieces of ephemeral art, lovingly created by Carole.
Carole? That’s me ;) Founder and soapmaker. I first discovered cold process soap in my kitchen… before slowly building a real professional soap workshop.
Along the way, I discovered a calling for entrepreneurship, and reconnected with my hidden passion for design, architecture, and art.
Wanting to pass on the ancestral knowledge of soapmaking, I also have the honor of regularly hosting in Aigle the workshop «The Art of Soap.»
𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘆
I started my soap workshop knowing nothing about business or commerce—I was simply guided by the desire to share the quality of the soaps I created, and by the joy of discovering a true artistic expression.
Back then, my vision was focused only on handmade details. Without realizing it, I was limiting myself. Entrepreneurship challenges you to grow, to evolve—and that’s how I uncovered the true potential of my ambition.
With 17 different kinds of soaps, it’s hard to finance this change on my own—that’s why I need your support!
By participating, you’ll be the very first to discover:
• the newly packaged soaps,
• the brand-new Aleppo soap range,
• and, of course, the much-awaited liquid soaps.
The Projects
𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴?
For over 5 years, my soaps have been wrapped in colorful fabrics. Pretty, artisanal, but… not so practical, and not so sustainable:
• limited choice of fabrics,
• energy-intensive production,
• sometimes seen as «crafty,» far from the professional quality I stand for.
💡 After months of research and trials, I found the solution:
a design box inspired by Brutalist architecture.
Minimalist, modern, it lets the soaps fully express their creativity. Color is still there—subtle and graphic—especially when the boxes stand side by side.
The advantages are many:
• It reinforces the design identity of La Lampe à Huile, with infinite color possibilities.
• The material is recyclable! Produced in Switzerland with partially recycled paper from a French paper mill.
• Perfect for shops, easy to store, and no need for tester soaps anymore!

New packaging means new photos and a new website.
Luckily, my son—photographer, web designer (and much more)—is in charge of it. A beautiful family adventure!
Our vision:
• An aesthetic and functional website
• A vibrant, authentic space to share my world, inspirations, and soap stories
• A professional platform where resellers can order in just a few clicks

🎉 The second milestone will unlock something new: liquid soaps!
I’ve been fine-tuning the formulas for 2 years—and now they’re finally ready.
Unlike shower gels (a mix of surfactants and water), liquid soap is real soap, saponified from oils. The result: gentle on the skin and biodegradable.
As soon as the first milestone is reached, you’ll discover the very first authentic liquid soaps in the history of La Lampe à Huile:
• 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘀 Î𝗹𝗲𝘀 – Hibiscus, Monoi fragrance
• 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 – Raspberry & strawberry, Berries fragrance
• 𝗕𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗲 – Aloe vera, Misty fragrance
The bottle—soft to the touch and made from wheat straw—is printed locally. A gentler choice for the environment, even if the perfect solution doesn’t exist yet.
♻️ Please recycle with plastic bottles.

I also have to tell you about the much-awaited Aleppo soaps.
Even though everything is already ready and funded, I wanted you to discover them exclusively before they’re available online.
Three unique creations, made only with organic extra virgin olive oil and laurel berry oil:
• 𝗟’𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗽 𝗡𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲 – with Noble Laurel hydrosol
• 𝗟’𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗽 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 – with Black Seed oil and Epsom salt
• 𝗟’𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗽 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗶 – with Chamomile infusion
Fragrance-free, they highlight the natural power of the oils for a result softer than ever.
Your support will make this possible 💛
