A dream on Madeira
Dear supporters, We are Nora and André, a couple who have embarked on an exciting journey to create something extraordinary: a hotel that reflects the heart of Madeira.
Our vision goes far beyond a mere renovation. We want to create a place that preserves local traditions, but at the same time appeals to modern travelers with a conscious, sustainable lifestyle.
My partner grew up on Madeira, is an architect and knows the island and its culture inside and out.
The warm hospitality, the close ties to nature and the creative traditions of the island have shaped her since childhood.
I, on the other hand, am a project manager in my everyday life, but my passion is managing short-term accommodation over the years and how to offer unforgettable experiences to travelers from all over the world.
Together we have the perfect mix of local roots and professional know-how to make this project a success.
Our vision: A hotel that lives Madeira Our hotel project is located in the heart of Funchal, the charming capital of Madeira, in a building that has been in use for decades. The walls of this hotel tell stories - of travelers who have explored the island and of a time when Madeiran hospitality was the focus. We want to respectfully preserve this heritage while creating a modern, environmentally conscious place where guests feel welcome.
Tradition, sustainability and community united
Our concept is based on three pillars:
-
Sustainability and environmental awareness: Madeira is known for its stunning nature and we want our hotel to be in harmony with this environment. That is why we rely on sustainable building materials, energy-efficient solutions and recycling concepts. For example, we will use solar energy to supply electricity and introduce biodegradable products in all areas of the hotel. In addition, by collaborating with local farmers and producers, we want to ensure that our food and drinks are locally sourced - fresh fruit, vegetables and wine directly from the Madeiran fields.
-
Local culture and craftsmanship: We believe that every detail in the hotel should tell the story and culture of Madeira. That is why we work closely with local artisans, artists and designers to create the interior of the hotel. Handmade furniture, traditional tiles and textiles as well as artwork by local artists will make each room a unique experience.
We also plan to offer workshops and events where guests can immerse themselves in Madeiran culture - be it through cooking classes, art workshops or guided walks through the stunning landscapes of Madeira.
- A place of community: Our hotel should not only be there for tourists - we also want to give something back to the local community. That is why we plan to work closely with the people of Funchal. Part of our hotel will be a café and a small shop selling local products - handmade ceramics, embroidery and regional delicacies. In this way we create jobs and support local artists and producers.
We also want to develop a program for local schoolchildren and students to offer them internships and training opportunities in the field of tourism, sustainability and hospitality.
Making the dream come true together
We need your support to make our hotel the special place we imagine it to be. We have already invested a lot of time, energy and equity, but the implementation of our sustainable and culture-oriented concept requires further financial resources. Crowdfunding is not just a financing option for us, but also a chance to involve people like you in our project.
What we will do with your support:
• Renovation: The building needs to be carefully renovated to preserve its charm while meeting modern standards. We want the architecture to reflect Funchal’s history while meeting the needs of a sustainable hotel.
• Sustainable technology: The integration of solar energy and energy-efficient systems requires investments that we cannot manage without your help.
• Furnishings and design: To make the hotel authentic and unique, we want to invest in modern furniture, local art and high-quality, sustainable materials.
