A new home for ZeoT bellydance school Zürich

Our dance school ZeoT has to move to a new location and needs your support to help fund some of the building work.

We want the new ZeoT dance studio to be a place that is more than a dance school: A beautiful space for our community to meet, dance, be creative and feel at home.

Since our foundation 20 years ago, our team of teachers has had the privilege of sharing the joy of oriental dance with many students.

In our dance school, it’s important for us to create an inclusive atmosphere. All women are welcome at ZeoT: beginners and advanced dancers, ambitious dancers or women who simply want to get to know their bodies in a new way. In all our classes, we emphasise healthy posture, sound technique, background knowledge and, of course, fun in movement.

We believe when you learn to dance, you move through life differently.

Our students discover how to express themselves, develop strength and flexibility and a new self-confidence. We’re proud of the community of diverse and wonderful women who have found their dance home with us!

Why we need crowdfunding

The Corona pandemic presented ZeoT, like many dance and sports schools, with great challenges. With a quick transition to online teaching, we were fortunately able to continue teaching - but our cushion of funding melted away during that time.

After we returned to dance in our studio where we’ve been since 2006, we were hit with more bad news: due to the gentrification of Europaallee, our building owners would not renew our contract. Our vibrant dance studio in Lagerstrasse will soon be turned into offices.

However, this doesn’t mean the end of ZeoT! After a long search for a new location, we’re happy to have found a great new place in Wipkingen where we can keep our school alive. From January 2023 we plan to welcome our students to our new dance oasis.

The change means that we have to face unplanned costs, which we cannot meet without your support: The deconstruction of the old location and the construction of the new premises.

How we'll build a new home for our dance community

Our new location is currently still under construction. We need your help to transform it into a dance school: This includes, for example, partition walls to divide the space into two dance studios, a dance floor that is easy on the joints, mirrored walls, showers and acoustic dampening curtains.
