Beautiful Art Book: «Esquisses Sauvages»
With my very first art book, I’m offering you a look back at seven years of studio creation. Your donation is important so that I can bring this book to life and have it printed on beautiful textured paper, like the Arches watercolour paper I use for my cyanotypes. Cyanotype is an old photographic printing technique that has given me my own way of expressing my photography, which is part dream, part reality. I paint an ultra-violet-sensitive emulsion on beautiful watercolour paper and then expose it through a negative image to sunlight before revealing it in water. This book is intended to be a feast for the eyes, as much for its content as for the quality of its printing.

Why do I need your support?
Presenting my cyanotype photographs reproduced in a book means taking the gamble that the quality of the paper will reflect the soul of my work.
My publisher, Monographic, based in Siena, has received a great deal of support, but we are still short of the funds needed to finance the extra value of the quality paper chosen for this book, a Tintoretto Stucco gesso offset coated paper from Fedrigoni.

Why create such a book?
To give people who come to my exhibitions the chance to take a little piece of my art home with them. This book is characterised by what I love most about what I do: working on beautiful paper.
To encourage positive thinking about tomorrow : This book is intended to carry the message - a very important one for me - that it is possible in 2023 to have a beautiful book published and printed in Switzerland, locally, in Sierre in the Valais. I would never have wanted such a book if it had to be printed elsewhere «to be cheaper».
It involves Swiss costs, and supports local industry. For me, this was an essential point, and the reason I need you today to raise funds is because I want to present this book on a superb paper that corresponds to the paper on which I create my cyanotype works. We plan to print 1000 books of 128 pages, each numbered and signed by me.
This book will be as much to look at as to touch, thanks to the paper selected.
