This is what it's all about.
Our goal is to empower Ugandan women to start and grow their own batik-based businesses by giving them the tools, materials, and legal knowledge they need to succeed. These are women with incredible creativity and determination, but who are often held back by lack of opportunity. Through this campaign, we’re raising funds for a two-day workshop that offers hands-on training in batik production, essential business skills, and an understanding of their legal rights. With your support, we can help them turn their talent into sustainable income and lasting independence — not just for themselves, but for their families and communities as well.

My project is special because ...
Too many women have the talent and drive to succeed but lack access to the tools, knowledge, or legal support needed to turn that potential into income. That’s where we at ILAED stand out. Unlike one-time aid programs, our approach combines hands-on skills training in batik production with legal empowerment and ongoing mentorship. We don’t just provide materials — we build lasting confidence, independence, and community. Through this project, we create real opportunities that women can own, control, and grow.

This is what I need backing for.
The funds raised will go directly toward organizing and running our two-day workshop in August. This includes purchasing batik materials and business startup toolkits, covering training costs, providing legal education sessions, and supporting follow-up mentorship. Every contribution helps equip women with the tools, skills, and confidence they need to launch and sustain their own batik-based businesses.
