Finally the CD !

After 5 years of existence and no less than 50 concerts, the Camerata du Léman is recording its 1st album!

Our ensemble of fifteen string soloists, playing without a conductor is born from a common passion for chamber music and the desire to explore a wide repertoire from baroque to nowadays

Our work, combining technical requirements, stylistic researches and musical sensitivity, will find a first outcome in the recording of this CD, which will immortalize two works particularly close to our heart: Tchaikovsky’s «Souvenir de Florence» and Mussorgsky’s «Pictures at an exhibition».

A masterpiece and a unique transcription !

A crazy gamble : recording a masterpiece of chamber music. The soloists of the Camerata gives an orchestral dimension to this piece originally composed for sextet, choosing to record it with sixteen voices of strings.

The «Pictures at an exhibition» of Mussorgsky are mainly known in their symphonic form, orchestrated by Maurice Ravel. From the original score for piano, Simon Bouveret, our solo violin, has made a new transcription specially written for our ensemble. Firstly the musical writing work, then the artistic research enabled us to appropriate it intimately and to explore a world rich of subtle colors, contrasted, even sometimes strange …

This original album will charm the music lovers in search of renewal, will touch the sensitivity and imagination of young children!
