We

are an association created by professional dancers. We believe that the realm of dance extends far beyond the stage and that a dancer has an extraordinary mix of knowledge and empathy. We use our deep awareness of body and emotion to help vulnerable people in crisis areas to find renewed psychological strength and physical energy.

The founder

Catherine Habasque is a solo dancer and choreographer. She has worked with Maurice Béjart, Jiri Kylian, Nacho Duato and has danced worldwide. She was nominated as «best dancers of the year» in the German critics survey 2007.

This project

will take us to the Philippines where the Caméléon association helps abused and underprivileged children.

We all know how much movement can free us, allowing us to express complex emotions without the intermediary of words. Multiple studies show how important it is in building resilience.

This project will offer the non-verbal strength of dance to children who have experienced trauma beyond words.

Our last trip

In September 2015 we were in Tskaltubo, Georgia, a city in which over 12’000 refugees from the civil war live.

See us at work in the video below.

And here...

We think it is important to share our passion not only with the people we visit and work with abroad, but also with those who support our project and make it happen.

In addition to our trips, we organise cultural events in Basel. These events help us finance our trips and open the project to a larger audience.

Why help us

DFW brings together high-level professional dancers investing their art and expertise in a humanitarian project.

We are a young organisation working with limited resources, principally coming from our members and private donations.

By helping us to finance our next work project, you will be supporting an active and trustworthy association that appreciates any and all assistance that it receives.
