Hi!*

I am Anna Krzyżak, a violist from Poland and together with my Polish friends – Aleksandra Czerniecka and Ignacy Siarkowski we share a passion to music!

I am a student of the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and at the same time of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. I am a laureate of international viola competitions and a scholar of the most renowned scholarships in Poland. I had a bigger view at the musical world when, in 2016, I joined the LGT Young Soloists – a swiss group consisting of outstanding young musicians. It was a big step in my career – I performed through Asia and Europe, both as a soloist and a chamber musician. I left the ensemble in 2018 and now I feel much more confident as an artist!

That is why I think I am in the just right moment of making another big step in my musical life, which is a debut CD recording. My partners in this project are pianist Aleksandra Czerniecka and clarinetist Ignacy Siarkowski. They are both very succesful musicians. Please, have a look at the «About the Initiators» (on the right side) to read our biographies!

Why Rebecca Clarke?

Exactly 100 years ago Rebecca Clarke composed her Sonata for viola and piano, which allowed her to become recognized in the musical world. That is why the idea of making 2019 the year of Rebecca Clarke came up to my mind. In cooperation with Aleksandra and Ignacy we focused our musical paths on her music.

The CD would be unusual, because there is not a lot of recordings featuring viola, clarinet and piano, and of course it would be a big step in our careers and musical lifes! It has been our dream and now it can become real! We would record for the German label – ARS Produktion, which was awarded the «Label of the year» by the ICMA – International Classical Music Awards!

CD would consist of pieces composed by Rebecca Clarke only and would show a variety of her inspirations – from Asian music through Ukrainian «Dumka» and Scottish folk music to very distinguished, impresionistic Sonata for viola and piano.

Please, let us be the ones honouring Rebecca Clarke and her music!
