Astrobiology, gamified!

What lies up there, beyond our sky? Are we alone in the universe? Is there life on exoplanets?

We build a game to give you some answers. Already tested and approved by over 400 players age 5 to 75, Drake’s Dice is a fast-paced gaming experience. Easy to pick up, yet deep in strategy, Drake’s Dice propels you on a quest to find out the probability of extra-terrestrial life, with scientific rigour, following three levels, in one tactical progression.

The heart of the game beats from the very first level: secretly bet on the results of the shared dice and accumulate your symbols. But be careful: don’t get too greedy or your rivals will get ahead of you! In the higher levels, discovery cards come into play to add a new tactical layer and controlled chaos.

While the ideal of science is collaborative, the glory of discovery remains individual. Only one name will be engraved on the prize for the discovery of extra-terrestrial life. Will it be yours?

We are back to aim for the stars!

We’re back and aiming for the stars!

Three years after the success of |HOP>, the quantum game, La Rose des Jeux is back on WeMakeIt to do even better. Our results?

-Thanks to over 200 contributors in 2023, we distributed 6,000 copies to prestigious institutions (including CERN!) and equipped over 150 classrooms in Switzerland, France, and North America.

-Winner of the ISAGA 2025 competition and acclaimed during the International Year of Quantum Physics, |HOP> has proven that science stereotypes can be shattered through play.

Building on this experience, we aim to do even better with Drake’s Dice! And the start is promising: our game has already won awards and is eagerly anticipated by the scientific community even before its official launch.

-The «Outstanding Poster» Award at the DPG (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Planetenforschung) conference recognized Drake’s Dice and its compelling approach to science communication. A great endorsement from experts!

-It was praised by peers at the SSEA6 symposium for its innovation in space communication.

-Drake’s Dice has already been selected to be presented at EGU, the COSPAR World Congress, and Serious Play Europe.

With your help, our goal is to print at least 2,000 copies directly to offer high-quality science at the lowest possible price!

100% fun, 100% science !

Drake’s Dice isn’t a science fiction game. It’s a tribute to real history. In 1960, Frank Drake launched the SETI program, forever changing our view of the cosmos. Today, we’re turning his legacy into a comprehensive tactical challenge.

🏛️ Absolute scientific rigor!

Forget about approximations! Every concept has been reviewed and validated by the European Astrobiology Institute (EAI), COSPAR, and the French Society of Exobiology (SFE).

  • 60+ Real-world concepts: From famous missions like Artemis to lesser-known exobiology references.

  • The Infobook: The game includes a comprehensive scientific booklet, validated by these same experts. It expands on every concept featured on the cards, offering a wealth of information right at your fingertips. It’s a ready-to-use educational tool for teachers and curious minds.

🎲 Three levels, designed to suit everyone, from casual players to expert astronomers:

1) Exploration: Hide your bets (Focus)! Guess others’ intentions to influence the shared dice. Simple, fast, competitive.

2) Strategy: Incorporate the Discovery cards. Science becomes your tactical weapon: exchange results, validate on someone else’s behalf, play multiple times, and more.

3) Expert: Be the fastest to identify the dice configuration before others and win the pot, alone against everyone !

Drake’s Dice has been tested and approved by over 400 testers of all ages, from 5 to 75. You’re the only one missing from the adventure!

Join the Drake’s Dice community!

Science advances thanks to those who dare to embrace the unknown. Today, we have the prototype, scientific validation, and passion. All we need is that final push: you.

Producing a high-quality game comes at a cost. Drake’s Dice contains over 50 custom components, double-thickness cardboard boards, screens, 70+ large-format cards and more. On a small scale, the unit production cost is close to 100 CHF. With this crowdfunding campaign, we aim to reach critical mass (1,000+ games) to launch industrial production and drive down that cost. Thanks to you, we’ll be able to offer the game at an affordable price, far below the initial 100 CHF.

Your pre-order isn’t just a purchase—it’s a vote for accessible and fun science. And to thank you for being the first to join us, we’ve designed exclusive rewards:

🌟 The Essentials:

-The Drake’s Dice Game (WeMakeIt Special Offer: 18% off!): Get the complete game for CHF 47 (⚠️ EU/CH shipping included!). A price that wouldn’t be possible without this group buy. Afterwards, the game will cost CHF 7 more per box.
