This is what it's all about.

We are launching a fundraising campaign to support the canteen of the NGO Educación y Futuro in Tarija, Bolivia. This NGO works with children from families affected by extreme poverty. It provides educational and academic support, as well as specialized assistance at the Auberge Transitoire for girls who have been victims of physical, sexual and/or psychological violence.

The canteen at La Libélula plays a crucial role: every day, it provides a nutritious meal for 46 children, including girls from the Auberge, toddlers from the day-care center and some students from the tutoring program, improving their nutrition and well-being. The midday meal, carefully prepared by Marisabel, includes soup, a hearty main course and sometimes dessert.

My project is special because ...

The La Libélula center’s canteen project stands out for its direct impact on Tarija’s most vulnerable children:

  1. Essential nutrition Every day, we support 46 children who would not otherwise have access to adequate nutrition. Every day, the midday meal includes soup, a hot main course, and sometimes dessert, helping to fill nutritional gaps and combat undernutrition.

  2. Reducing malnutrition By targeting school-age children, Comedor plays an essential role in reducing the incidence of undernutrition. The meals offered help to offset nutritional deficiencies and promote optimal physical and cognitive development.

  3. Comprehensive support In addition to lunchtime meals, Comedor also provides complete daily nutrition for the girls staying at the Auberge, offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. This is crucial for girls who are victims of violence, and who find themselves in particularly precarious situations.

  4. Planning and follow-up Menus are carefully prepared each week by the center’s administrator and cook, ensuring a varied diet adapted to the children’s needs.

  5. Holistic approach In addition to nutrition, the center offers comprehensive educational support:

  6. School support Aims to accompany and support children in their learning to prevent them from dropping out and failing at school.

  7. The hostel Offers temporary refuge to girls who have been victims of violence, with psychological, socio-educational and pedagogical support.

  8. The day-care center Allows young children to benefit from stimulating activities to boost their development, while enabling mothers to go to work without having to leave younger children at home alone or with strangers.

  9. Community involvement Libélula works closely with families, schools and local authorities to ensure integrated care and support for every child.

  10. Long-term support This project aims not only to provide immediate help, but also to create a lasting impact by improving eating habits and supporting children’s overall development through a comprehensive educational and social approach.

This is what I need backing for.

Your help is crucial in supporting the center’s canteen, providing a daily meal for 46 children for at least one term. By contributing to this initiative, you will be helping to create a stable and secure environment, essential for their development and well-being despite the challenges they face. Your help will not only ensure their nutrition, but also provide them with the overall support they need to thrive and overcome their difficulties.
