Help us make our dream come true. After 2 years’ training in high-level mountaineering, we’re off on an expedition to the Lofoten Islands to open new climbing routes in traditional style on bigwalls.

Support the expedition of young mountaineers from the Swiss Alpine Club SAC

In February 2023, we were selected to join the Swiss Alpine Club Expedition Team, a high-level training programme for young mountaineers, culminating in an expedition.

In winter with ice axes, in summer with our bare hands, that’s how we climb walls in the many different corners of the Alps.

Over the last two years, we’ve followed a variety of modules that have taught us how to organise an expedition from A to Z, covering not only the purely physical and technical aspects of mountaineering, but also mental training, logistical organisation and the importance of teamwork.

We were able to benefit from the experience of two mountain guides specialised in expeditions and risk management. They gave us a taste for adventure and the keys we needed to prepare for our own.

Swiss television has produced a series of episodes about our team and its training. Take a look and immerse yourself in our adventures (link below).

Off to the Lofoten Islands!

As our training progressed, our desire to get out of the Alps became apparent and our eyes turned to the Lofoten Islands, in the north of Norway. This archipelago, located beyond the Arctic Circle, has many granite walls jutting out of the sea. Some of them are far removed from civilisation, and the potential for opening up new routes is immense. Getting there and traversing them is a real expedition.

There, we will climb the walls by exploiting their weaknesses, i.e. the cracks that cut into them. Climbing cracks is quite an art, the art of pulling yourself up by repeatedly getting stuck. What’s more, we can protect ourselves with removable protectors, which we take off when we’re finished. We leave no trace of ourselves.

Because we care about the environment, we want to show that you don’t have to take a plane to experience great adventures. We’ll be taking the train to the Lofoten Islands, on the edge of Europe!

Help us realise our dream

Every day we train brings us a little closer to our dream. However, quite apart from the sporting and logistical aspects, organising an expedition requires substantial financial resources.

We need around 9’000 CHF to cover train tickets to the Lofoten Islands, special equipment, accommodation if we can’t camp, food and contingency plans.

Thank you for your precious support. Thank you for your trust and generosity. Antoine, Dario, Filippo, Lionel & Marc
