Organization for families looking for a place
The association is currently looking for a space to offer its services to families with young children in the Bödeli region. This will allow us to create an indoor space where the little ones are welcome, with age-appropriate games (from birth to 4 years old) and where parents can connect with each other.
The project was designed for families by a family. We are a mom and a dad of young children, and we know that the days (and nights!) can sometimes feel long. A good coffee in a place where you can meet other parents and where children (and babies) can play – that is priceless!

Breaking isolation
A young mother suffering from postpartum depression, a family with a newborn who just arrived from Australia in the Bernese Oberland, a young father whose friends don’t have children, a French-speaking mom who recently moved to Unterseen without any friends or family nearby, a mother struggling with breastfeeding who doesn’t know where to turn. All of these people feel isolated in their parenting journey and need our association to create connections, feel less alone, ask questions, and meet early childhood professionals in an informal setting.
Our project combines integration and prevention.
We want all children to have the opportunity to experience a place outside of their daily environment where they can freely play and grow. Because inequality begins at birth: A child from a wealthy family will be enrolled in activities, daycare, etc., where they will develop new skills and adaptability. Some families simply cannot afford this, but they shouldn’t be at a disadvantage because of it. Our association wants to offer them a space where their children can gain the same skills and flexibility as others.
We also want to provide parents with a place where they can take German classes while having their children cared for, making it easier to integrate into the community and workforce. I, for example, have a university degree in a field that is in high demand in the Bödeli region (teaching), but I am unable to work because my German is not strong enough and I have two young children to care for. A space like the one our association wants to create would allow me to take German classes AND have my children looked after, all in the same place and at an affordable price.

The funds raised will be used to secure and finance a space. The association does not currently own a space, and a fixed location is essential to offer our services to families with young children. If the 15,000 CHF goal is reached, half of the annual rent will be covered. We will then continue to raise funds to reach 30,000 CHF.
We are committed to publishing a detailed report on the use of the funds and will regularly update our community on the progress of the project via Instagram and our newsletter. Our accounts will be accessible to anyone interested. Our team is made up of dedicated volunteers, which ensures that every franc raised is directly invested into the project – in this case, into the rent payment.
