Social distancing is a privilege.
It means you live in a house large enough to practise it.
Hand washing is a privilege too. It means you have access to running water.
Hand sanitizers are a privilege. It means you have money to buy them.
Lockdowns are a privilege. It means you can afford to be at home.
Most of the ways to ward off Corona are accessible only to the affluent.
In essence, a disease that was spread by the rich as they flew around the globe will now kill millions of the poor.
All those who are practising social distancing & imposed a lockdown on themselves must appreciate how privileged we are.
More importantly those who can do it yet still move around infecting others especially the poor are criminals.
Poor cannot afford it please be considerate.

Really good initiative. Most of us living outside India want to contribute and help the daily wage earners who are suffering. Thanks for providing us a means to do this.

Great initiative to help people in desperate need of food.

The challenging thing is to deliver help through a remote network observing all the precautions and safety and this can be done leveraging digital technology. Heartfelt regards to all the volunteers on the ground, in India. Cheers to the organizers for this efforts.

Very nice effort Eshajouri and Rhythima. Is there any initiative you are aware of covering other parts of the country?

We like your project – this is why we’ve added it to our «We Fancy» category! For the next couple of days it will appear on the front page and also in the «Recommended» section. We’d say you can be proud of yourselves and tell everyone about it! Publish some news, make a tweet or write a post!

I strongly believe that each one of us could contribute in our own way, whether small or big, to express solidarity with those in need. The daily-wage workers and their families in India are fighting the pandemic at a whole different level. They need every possible help to survive these difficult times.

It's the minimum I could do for my country sitting so far. Good job, thanks for doing this. Plz contact if I can be of any help!

The fight against Corona needs to be inclusive and must not come at the cost of the basic needs of the the poor/needy. Thanks to the team for taking the initiative.

I consider myself to be lucky to be able to stay home and not worry about my family's sustenance. Majority of Indians do not have that luxury and can use every bit of help.

I supported one family through the first option. Although it would be nice if we can directly do the transfer via services like PayPal etc. Esp. for money coming from other EU countries like Netherlands.
