FOLK SONGS | An EP Between Tradition and Jazz
Traditional Balkan songs, reimagined — recorded in the studio with an extraordinary jazz band from Austria and Serbia.
It’s happening — I’m in the studio.
The songs many of you have experienced live are finally finding their home on a record. Traditional Balkan songs — Volim, Diku, Gde si dšo, Gde si rano, Ajde Jano — reimagined, rebreathed, but carrying all the soul they’ve always had.
— What is being created? —
An EP. Small, but with everything that matters — five songs I’ve carried on stage for years, finally captured.
— The Band —
By my side: five extraordinary musicians who make these songs what they need to be.
Gerhard Ornig – Trumpet Martin Harms – Saxophone Werner Radzik – Piano Milan Nikolic – Double Bass Pedja Milotivovic – Drums
— Why now? —
For me, this is a deeply personal moment. These songs have travelled with me through so many stages, so many nights. Having them captured now means everything.
And this is just the beginning — next year brings the album of my own compositions.
This is what I need backing for.
Studio, production, mixing, mastering — it all costs. With your help, this EP can sound the way it deserves to.
