«a haymish groove«, the legendary album of Geduldig & Thimann, was a milestone in the history of Jewish music in Austria and also outside the country’s borders. Edek Bartz and Albert Misak alias Edward Geduldig and Albert Thimann were one of the most influential acts in the Jewish music scene for almost two decades (between the 1970s and 1990s) and are still very active in forming the cultural development of the Jewish community in Austria and in New York. On »a haymish groove» they worked together with the creme de la creme of the New Yorker music scene back in those days: Ruth Rubin, Don Byron, Arnold Dreyblatt and the Orchestra of Excited Strings, Mark Feldman, Guy Klucevsek, Andy Statman and his Klezmer Orchestra, and Elliott Sharp. It’s the cooperation of these excellent and versatile musicians that makes this album legendary and fascinating.

23 years after its being released on CD, we plan to issue «a haymish groove» for the first time ever on high-quality vinyl, as a respectful addition to the collection of Geduldig & Thimann in the Wienbibliothek in the Viennese City Hall and to the exhibition «Stars of David. Wien – New York – Hollywood» in Palais Eskeles.
