Hello, everyone!
This first update is to say a HUGE thank you for the success of the ’2025 Glacier Subfossil Wood Project’!
It has been a wonderful adventure and its success is quite unexpected and, in any case, very moving! :)
It enabled us to carry out a very successful field campaign during the month of October, visiting 10 sites in Switzerland and collecting some 40 new samples of subfossil wood of glacial origin! (Pictured here is surely the most striking example from this field session, melting off from an ice cliff abandoned by the front of the Gorner Glacier…)
Of course, all of this is not just about money, but above all about sharing the wonderful emotions that Science and Nature can bring!
The counterparts are currently being prepared, and despite the delay in the schedule (but as there was no schedule…! ;-) they will be sent out within the next three weeks!
In the meantime, I wish you all the best in your respective endeavours!
